ORPHIC BLUES

SYNOPSIS

In Orphic Blues, Medea and Tiresias team up to keep a bar running and escape their respective pasts: She wants to leave her crimes and the heartbreak she suffered behind her; he wants to forget that she was ever a woman, and would prefer to remain one. Orpheus, the musician capable of bending trees with his song, the one who tamed the beasts and descended into hell, approaches them for help in recovering his dead love. Each exhibits his emotional pathologies, seeking in the others what they are unwilling to give, thus creating a love triangle that becomes a vicious circle. Possible solutions involve the misfortune or destruction of one of them.

"In a society where deep bonds are eradicated to be replaced by superficial ties, passionate beings are

marginalized and the patterns of loving become distorted, becoming destructive and irrational...distrust love..."
